An "Autumn Afternoon Cemetery Walking Tour," led by church and local historian Joshua A. Fink, will be held 1:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Road, Allentown.

This will be an opportunity to learn about some of the earliest inhabitants of the area, as well as interesting individuals buried in the cemetery; see the tombstone said to be the oldest tombstone on any Lutheran or Reformed Cemetery in Lehigh County that can still be read in its entirety; learn about soldiers of the American Revolution buried on the cemetery; find out more about Samuel Hoe and Willoughby Knauss, two soldiers who died during the Civil War; learn about an individual buried on the cemetery who was murdered; visit the final resting place of the founder of a local company (which is one of the largest employers in the Lehigh Valley) whose interest in medicine helped build our area's largest hospital; and see several other interesting tombstones along the way.

Everyone will gather in the sanctuary to begin the event; the tour will be held weather permitting.

This is a walking tour, comfortable footwear is encouraged. Donations to the 275th anniversary committee will be greatly appreciated.
