East Penn SCHOOL DISTRICT Events and Happenings

Oct. 17

Eyer Middle School Angel Network will collect nonperishable food items through Oct. 19 in each homeroom. Gift cards, school supplies, Thanksgiving items and checks will also be accepted from interested donors. Items can also be dropped off at Eyer's main office during school hours.

The Lower Macungie Middle School Student Council is sponsoring their second annual coat drive through Nov. 12. They are collecting clean and gently used men's, women's and children's coats and jackets to be donated to students and members of the community. Donations may be dropped off at the school during school hours or can be sent with a student.

The Emmaus High School SGA will host western theme day at the school. Students are invited to wear clothes matching the day's theme.

Lower Macungie Middle School student council will visit Savidge Farms, Mertztown, 5 to 8 p.m. The farm offers produce, farm animals and educational opportunities.

Oct. 18

The Emmaus High School SGA will host super hero day at the school. Students are invited to wear clothes matching the day's theme.

The Eyer Middle School Band will hold an after school performance 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the school.

The Emmaus High School SGA will hold the homecoming parade, pep rally and bonfire 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the EPSD Stadium and practice football fields.

Oct. 19

The Emmaus High School SGA will host school spirit day at the school. Students are invited to wear clothes matching the day's theme.

Lower Macungie Middle School will host their third annual pink out at the school. Shirts with the slogan "Fight Like A Girl For:" will be sold to raise money for breast cancer awareness. The shirt will include names of women affected by breast cancer as dedicated by students and staff.

Shoemaker Elementary School PTO will hold a skating fundraiser 4 p.m. at RollerMotion, 1609 Trexlertown Road, Macungie.

The Emmaus High School homecoming football game against Whitehall will be played 7 to 9 p.m. at the school.

Oct. 20

Interested Emmaus High School students will be able to take the PSAT test 8 to 11 a.m. at the school.

The Emmaus High School homecoming dance will be held 7 to 10 p.m. in the school cafeteria. The theme is "Neon Rainforest."

Oct. 21

The East Penn School District will celebrate Red Ribbon Week through Oct. 31. Red Ribbon Week is a nationally recognized campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs while encouraging prevention, early intervention and treatment services.

Oct. 22

The Lower Macungie Middle School student council is holding an "All Treats, No Tricks" food drive through Nov. 9. Students are asked to donate a nonperishable item to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank. The homeroom collecting the most items, 250 item minimum, will win a party of their choice.

Oct. 23

Willow Lane Elementary School will host their fourth grade incredible assembly 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at the school.

East Penn middle school students are invited to attend winter sports signups 6 to 7 p.m. in the Emmaus High School Café.
