Congratulations to the Rough Rider marching band, which recently brought home two first-place trophies from band competitions.

The group scored 77.35 at the Wilson band competition in Reading held Sept. 29 and 85.75 at the Daniel Boone competition at Exeter Middle School Oct. 6. Way to go, guys!

If you haven't purchased your brown and white Rough Rider T-shirt yet, new long- and short-sleeved football shirts have arrived and they are on sale in the school's athletic office.

Any high school student, parent, transfer student or adult who might be interested in continuing their education has the opportunity to meet with admission representatives from more than 150 public and private colleges and universities at the NCC College Fair, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The fair will be held on the college's main campus in the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center room. This fair is sponsored by Pennsylvania for College Admission Counseling.

College representatives continue to schedule visits to the high school to speak with interested juniors and seniors.

Representatives from Utica College and Temple University will be at the school Monday, Oct. 15; Seton Hall University, Bridgewater College and Johnson College of Technology representatives will visit Tuesday, Oct. 16. Representatives from Albright College and the California University of Pennsylvania will visit Wednesday, Oct. 17 and, finishing out the week, will be visits from Moravian College and East Stroudsburg University representatives Friday, Oct. 19
