Elementary school parent visitations will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 16 and 17.

Younger siblings should not attend. Be sure to check-in at the office.

Parent information seminar: Dr. Matthew Martinez will present a lecture entitled "Sudden Cardiac Arrest" Wednesday, Oct. 17, starting at 6 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

At 6:40 p.m. Dr. Kevin Waninger will present a class on concussions and at 7:20 p.m. Dr. Steven Kachmar will present a class entitled "Bullying and Your Child."

Open House & Parents Night: Parents of Bethlehem Area Vocational Technical School students are invited to an open house and parents night Oct. 17.

This event provides an opportunity for current and prospective students, parents and community members to meet the staff and tour the building.

The evening will include meet the teachers, cooking demonstrations, children's activities, food and refreshments, program display tables, information regarding financial aid and a basket raffle. Current students will also have the opportunity to review choices for final program placement.

Festival of Bands: The Northampton Area High School Big "N" Band will present the 2012 Festival of Bands Saturday, Oct. 20, at 6 p.m. rain or shine in Al Erdosy Stadium, located just behind the high school.

This night of music and artistry showcases the talents of students from across the region. Eight area high school bands will take the field in competition at this event.

Spectators will witness the debut performance of the Northampton Middle School Little "N" Band's 2012 field show "Dragons Journey." The Northampton Big "N" Band will close out the night with its 2012 field show "Chronometry."

There is a cost. Tickets are available at the gate and parking is free.

Pink out: The high school student body is planning a "pink out" for breast cancer awareness at the last home football game this season – which takes place Friday night.

So add some pink to your orange and black wardrobe when you head over to the game.

PTA council meeting: The Northampton Area School District PTA council meeting will take place Thursday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. at Northampton Area High School.

School board meeting: The next school board meeting is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 22, at 6:30 p.m. at the district offices, 2014 Laubach Avenue.
