Tomorrow is Wear Pink Day at Zephyr Elementary.
Students and staff are invited to go "Passionately Pink" to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer. Participating is simple. Just wear pink.
Staff members will be making donations to the American Cancer Society's making Strides for Breast Cancer. This is the second year supporting the event, to take place in Bethlehem Oct. 27.
Homecoming activities: The high school student council is sponsoring homecoming activities this week. There will be a bonfire and open mic 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, in the football parking lot.
Join the high school clubs and classes sponsoring face painting, tattooing, pumpkin painting and food and beverages throughout the evening.
The open mic is from 6 to 7:30 pm with music by high school students. From 7:30 to 8 p.m. football players, cheerleaders and the homecoming court will be introduced. At 8 p.m. the bonfire will be lit by the Whitehall Fire Department.
The Homecoming football game against Central Catholic will take place Friday. The homecoming theme is Whitehall Through the Decades. The homecoming court will be riding in convertibles.
The Homecoming dance is Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. during which time the homecoming king and queen will be crowned.
Speak out against drugs: Wear the color red or a red ribbon on Monday to show your support to reduce the demand for drugs in the country. Children are encouraged to wear red socks, red shirts, red sweaters, red shoelaces, red hair ribbons, along with other red apparel and accessories. Please support this worthy cause.
Bingo: Whitehall Cheering Bingo is scheduled for Oct. 28 at the American Club in Coplay. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and bingo begins at 2 p.m.
Prizes will include Longaberger, Coach and Vera Bradley items.
Door prizes, a Chinese Auction and refreshments will be offered.
