ALBURTIS COLUMN Lock Ridge Historical Society meets Oct. 11

I spent last week in New England visiting my older sister. It's a long ride up from here and for the third year in a row, rained most of the way. However, coming home the Lord and sunshine were with us. Autumn had arrived in full splendor. Color was everywhere, from palest yellow bushes to deep red of tall trees along the roads and highways. Cool brisk air was a welcome change after our steamy summer. Pumpkins, a few corn stalks and seasonal decorations reminded us Halloween was on its way.
