Book fair ending: The Steckel online book fair ends this Friday.
The online event allows those unable to attend, including friends and out-of-town family, a chance to support students of Steckel Elementary by purchasing books for the kids or for their classrooms.
All purchases made from the link will be credited directly to Steckel's Scholastic account.
To find the link, visit the school's website at www.whitehallcoplay.org/districtsite/.
Books will be shipped free directly to Steckel and will arrive within seven to 10 business days.

Zephyr Reading Challenge: The teachers and staff challenge the students of Zephyr Elementary School to read.
In an effort to improve students' reading fluency and comprehension skills, the reading specialists have organized this contest. During each marking period the students will face a different challenge.
The challenge for the first marking period is students collectively to read a total of 300,000 pages.
PTO to meet: The first PTO meeting for the 2012-13 school year will be Tuesday, Oct. 16, starting at 7 p.m. at Zephyr. All meetings are open to the public.

Market Day tastes great: Each month, as a participating Market Day school, restaurant-quality food products from the same vendors that supply many upscale restaurants will be available for purchase.
Market Day products are competitively priced and proceeds benefit students through various events and programs.
The order sheet will be coming home once a month with your student.
You can find out more about Market Day and even place your order online. Visit www.marketday.com. Our Market Day account code is 22383.
For those who have already ordered, the next Market Day pickup will take place in the middle school cafeteria from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
If you are unable to make it, contact Rose Cierello via the Zephyr main office.
Market Day is looking for two or three volunteers who can help to inventory items and double check orders.
