DUI
Holly McCarthy, of Macungie, was arrested for DUI on Interstate 78 eastbound at mile marker 62.9, Upper Saucon Township, 10:55 p.m. Aug. 12. McCarthy was allegedly found to be driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance during a traffic stop.
Joan Rodriguez-Tavarez, 22, of Emmaus, was arrested for DUI on Interstate 78 westbound, east of exit 49, Upper Macungie Township, 6:47 a.m. Sept. 7. Rodriguez-Tavarez was stopped for several traffic violations and was also allegedly observed smoking marijuana in the vehicle.
Luis Santiago, 34, of Allentown, was arrested for DUI on Interstate 78 westbound at mile marker 60.6, Upper Saucon Township, 12:40 a.m. Sept. 8. Santiago was allegedly under the influence when he crashed his motorcycle traveling approximately 110 mph. Santiago was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital for medical treatment.
Virginia Schlaffer, 21, of Breinigsville, was arrested for DUI on Hamilton Boulevard at Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:05 a.m. Sept. 8. Schlaffer was stopped for an equipment violation and was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Shannon Mondovich, 26, of Wescosville, was arrested for DUI on Krocks Road at Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, 2:52 a.m. Sept. 10. Mondovich was stopped for multiple traffic violations and was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Walter Gassaway III, 36, of Macungie, was arrested for DUI on Willow Lane at John Fries Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 10:52 p.m. Sept. 10. Gassaway was stopped for multiple traffic violations and was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Joaquin Berrun, 22, of Harrisburg, was arrested for DUI on Interstate 78 at Lehigh Street, Salisbury Township, 1:17 a.m. Sept. 15. Berrun was stopped for a traffic violation and was allegedly found to be under the influence and in possession of a small amount of suspected marijuana.
Arthur Persing, 65, of Macungie, was arrested for DUI on Mill Creek Road at Sauerkraut Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 9:58 p.m. Sept. 15. Persing was stopped for a traffic violation and was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Jeffrey Reichel, 35, of Wescosville, was arrested for DUI on Hamilton Boulevard at Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 3:23 a.m. Sept. 16. Reichel was stopped for a traffic violation and allegedly exhibited signs of intoxication.
Sashi Llera, of Edgewater, N.J., was arrested for DUI on Interstate 78 eastbound west of the Summit Lawn exit, Upper Saucon Township, 8:52 p.m. Sept. 16. Llera was stopped for traffic violations and driving erratically before she was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Aaron Thorpe, 25, of Emmaus, was arrested for DUI on Main Street at First Street, Emmaus, 2:24 a.m. Sept. 20. Thorpe was stopped for an equipment violation and was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance.
Jessica Sanchez-Chavez, 23, of Reading, was arrested for DUI on State Route 29 at Ramer Road, Upper Milford Township, 2:35 a.m. Sept. 21. Sanchez-Chavez was stopped for multiple traffic violations and was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Harassment
Maryann Boone, 53, of Allentown, and Chistopher Janney, 31, of Allentown, were charged with harassment in the 4200 block of East Texas Road, Lower Macungie Township, 8:45 p.m. Sept. 8. The mother and son allegedly became engaged in a verbal altercation that escalated to a physical conflict when Boone held Janney down on the floor. He allegedly then bit her and spit in her face. Boone also allegedly bit Janney on his hands during the confrontation. Janney then wrestled out of his clothing before being thrown out of the house by Boone. Janney allegedly remained outside the house naked until police arrived.
Anthony Buskirk, 23, of Lansford, was charged with harassment in the 8200 block of Milky Way, Lower Milford Township, 12:30 a.m. Sept. 15. Buskirk allegedly struck a 21-year-old female in the face with an open hand causing red marks on the right side of the victim's face. He then allegedly struck a 51-year-old male in the chest when confronted about the incident.
Kelly Moran and Michael Peloso, both of Allentown, were charged with harassment after an incident in the 5000 block of Wedge Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 9:11 a.m. Sept. 15. The two actors allegedly entered into a verbal argument which turned physical when Moran attempted to leave the residence and Peloso blocked her from leaving. Peloso allegedly screamed obscenities at Moran before she pushed and scratched him causing red scratch marks on his left bicep and forearm.
A 17-year-old male was charged with harassment for allegedly punching a 12-year-old male in the head three times in the 5000 block of Meadow Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 4:53 p.m. Sept. 19.
Terroristic threats
An unknown actor threatened a victim in the 6600 block of Carmel Drive, Lower Macungie Township, Sept. 13. The caller allegedly threatened to kill the victim.
Disorderly conduct
Jillian Caramanica, 24, of Bethlehem, and Laura Deemer, of Bethlehem, were cited for disorderly conduct on the 4400 block of Cedarbrook Road, Lower Macungie Township, 7:59 a.m. Sept. 19. Caramanica and Deemer allegedly became involved in a physical altercation in the middle of the roadway causing public inconvenience, annoyance and alarm.
Criminal mischief
An unknown actor threw nails in a driveway in the 4500 block of East Texas Road, Lower Macungie Township, between 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 p.m. Aug. 31. The victim drove over the nails.
An unknown actor damaged a glass door with an unknown object in the 6900 block of Hunt Drive, Lower Macungie Township, between 8 a.m. Sept. 7 and 12:23 p.m. Sept. 8.
An unknown actor damaged door locks by putting an unknown substance inside them in the 6700 block of Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sept. 15.
Burglary
An unknown actor entered a home in the 4000 block of Pheasant Court, Lower Macungie Township, 1:46 a.m. Sept. 9. The actor jumped a fence and kicked in a door leading to the basement but nothing was taken.
An unknown actor stole multiple items after forcing entry into a home in the 5900 block of Wayside Drive, Lower Macungie Township, between 3:45 and 10 p.m. Sept. 19.
Retail theft
An unknown actor stole four pairs of shoes from Famous Footwear, 6900 Hamilton Blvd., 6:45 p.m. Sept. 14.
Paul Reckling, 19, of Allentown, was cited for retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 5:52 p.m. Sept. 15. Reckling allegedly stole $53.88 worth of merchandise.
Alphonse Rivera, 54, of Whitehall, was charged with retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 7:40 p.m. Sept. 18. Rivera allegedly attempted to leave the store with concealed merchandise.
Chrissy Teloniatis, 22, of Allentown, was cited for retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:06 p.m. Sept. 20. Teloniatis allegedly atempted to steal $47.84 worth of merchandise.
Theft
An unknown actor stole a red eight-foot Western snow plow from a residence in the 8800 block of Longswamp Road, Lower Macungie Township, between 12:01 a.m. Aug. 8 and 11:41 a.m. Sept. 8.
A Macungie resident was scammed into sending $4,000 to Mexico when he received a phone call telling him his grandson was in a Mexican jail and needed to be bailed out Sept. 20. The victim received a call from 1-888-891-2113 and was asked to send the money through Western Union.
Access device fraud
An unknown actor ordered a flash drive and sent it to the victim's residence using the victim's name and address in the 1300 block of Highland Court, Lower Macungie Township, 11:00 a.m. Sept. 7.
