Couple renew vows
at Heidelberg UCC
Edward and Eleanor Lavage of Bethlehem celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 25 with a renewal of vows ceremony at Heidelberg United Church of Christ, Heidelberg Township, followed by a reception in the fellowship hall.
The ceremony at Heidelberg Church was special to Eleanor because she is a descendant of Casper Peter, one of the founding members of Heidelberg Church, founded in 1740.
The couple were married Aug. 25, 1962, at St. Thomas United Church of Christ, Macada Road, Bethlehem.
Mrs. Lavage is the former Eleanor Peters, daughter of the late Barnett and Thelma Peters.
Mr. Lavage is the son of the late Stanley and Mary Lavage.
The couple has two children, Susan (Terry) Barker and Margaret Lavage; and three grandchildren, Jeffrey, Michael and Cassandra Kilgore.
Mr. and Mrs. Lavage are lifelong residents of Bethlehem and are enjoying their retirement years together.
