ANCIENT OAK COLUMN

This is the season for changes. Autumn began this past Saturday, the weather has turned a bit cooler, schools are in full swing. A few miles down the road, the Alburtis Park has ended its 82nd year of country music, games and entertainment. Folks are preparing for coming events and holiday celebrations.

The Lower Macungie Senior Citizens meet noon at the community center, 3400 Brookside Road, Macungie, Oct. 2 and 16. Games are played following the business meeting. Call Doris at 610-966-3653 for information about her trip to Ace in the Hole Oct. 3 and Branson Nov. 10 to 18.

Bingo games resume at the Alburtis Community Center, Walnut and Second Street Oct. 5. Doors open 5:30 p.m., games begin 7 p.m. Refreshments available.

Mark Oct. 13 on your calendar for the annual fall festival at Alburtis Community Center starting 11 a.m. Bring the family for a day of fun. Enter the cow pie bingo. There will be children's activities, the Lehigh German Shepherd group, crafts, vendors and delicious foods. The festival grounds are located at Walnut and Second streets.

The annual Ancient Oak garage sale will be held 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 29. No rain date.

The Ancient Oak Women's Organization meets 7:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at St. Paul's U.C.C., Trexlertown Road, Trexlertown. All Ancient Oak women are invited to join this active group.
