Whitehall High School Meet the Teacher Night is this evening, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity to come visit the school and meet some of your child's teachers.

High school underclassman pictures: Picture day for Whitehall High School underclassmen will be held this Friday, Sept. 21. Photos will be taken in the auditorium during the school day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. All students will be photographed. Purchasing is optional. Students are reminded to dress appropriately.

Middle school book fair: The middle school PTO book fair is currently available online, as well as in school this week. Visit the Whitehall Coplay School District's website at http://www.whitehallcoplay.org/districtsite/index.html and you will find a link to the Scholastic Book Fair. There are some great selections to choose from. The book fair will also be available for students during the week at school. Thank you for supporting the PTO.

Meet the Teacher: Gockley Elementary School Meet the Teacher night is planned for Thursday, Oct. 4, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Parents are welcomed to meet their child's teacher and tour the building. Children should not accompany their parents; the evening is intended for parents only. Teachers will begin their presentation promptly at 6:40 p.m., so please arrive on time. After the presentation you may visit your child's room and tour the building. Be sure to stop in to meet the PTO and visit the PTO's fundraiser display in the cafeteria. You may also check your child's lunch accounts and put money in their accounts in the cafeteria.

Gockley Elementary School: Parents are encouraged to check their child's lunch account often to assure funds are available to purchase lunches. Accounts can be checked online through the "Lunchbox Account." If you need an account set up, please email mySchoolBucks.com and include your name, child's name, grade and phone number. If online access is not available, parents may call the Gockley cafeteria between 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. to check the balance.

District website: Be sure to check many upcoming events and important information the district is sharing for all the buildings at the Whitehall-Coplay School District website. The website is a valuable tool for keeping in contact between home and school. You can access lunch information, important health room news, PTO events, special building activities and many more resources for parents and students. Please bookmark the site and take time to check your child's school website. The site is http://www.whitehallcoplay.org/districtsite/index.html. Each school can be accessed through this website. Many schools are going green and suggest you visit the site to read school newsletters.

Support and join PTO: The Whitehall-Coplay Parent-Teacher Organization is one of the most outstanding PTO groups in the Lehigh Valley. The group provides numerous educational and cultural programs for students. Many of the special events in the school district could not occur without the assistance and financial support of this dedicated organization. The PTO covers students in grades k-12.

During the upcoming weeks you will receive information about becoming a member. Please enroll your family as a member. There are no commitments when you enroll. Volunteers are welcomed to actively participate in the following opportunities: hospitality, school volunteers for grades k-12, holiday party, school spirit, fundraiser, publicity, book fairs, Children's Day, programs and special projects. Fundraising information will also be distributed.
