Couple celebrates
50th anniversary
Helmut and Ruthie (Denkenberger) Wicker, who have lived in Schnecksville for 30 years. recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
The Wicker's were married Sept. 23, 1962, at the Windfall United Methodist Church, Windfall, Bradford County, by the Rev. Phillip Fried.
They are the proud parents of daughters Anneliese, wife of Robert Gualtieri of Glenside, Montgomery County; Darlene, wife of Wolfgang Cernoch of Concord, N.C.; and Rachel, wife of Craig Evans of Wellington, Fla., and a son Josef Wicker of El Segunda, Calif.
The couple has one grandson: Samuel Charles Evans.
The Wickers' children and special friends Marvin and Marie Miller helped them celebrate Aug. 3 with a family dinner at a local restaurant.
Afterward, they had wedding cake and dessert at the couple's home along with a program of beautiful tributes from their children and grandson, revolving around the theme "The Family Tree."
The couple was presented with a large magnolia tree as a gift to be planted in the front yard of their home as a reminder of the family tree, which has been a shelter for their family through all of life's seasons.
