Don't forget, tonight, Sept. 13, is Meet the Teacher Night at Sheckler Elementary School. Doors open at 5:45 p.m.

Be sure to take this opportunity to visit your child's classroom, visit the book fair in the cafeteria and check out the information tables in the gym.

You can also sign up for parent-teacher conferences to be held in November.

Phil's Fries will also be here, so bring your appetite. A percentage of these sales will be donated back to Sheckler.

The classroom Box Tops for Education contest is underway at Sheckler. Students can bring these Box Tops in with them and give them to their teacher.

They will be tallied and the classroom with the top amount in each grade level will earn a classroom party.

The contest will run from now until Oct. 26. Each one is worth 10 cents and when added together schoolwide, they add up quickly.

Box Tops can be found on General Mills products. Be sure to check your items, clip and send them to school and help your child's class become the winning room, while also helping to earn the school some extra cash.

Sept. 19 is an early dismissal for students.

Grades 1-4 will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m. and kindergarten will be on a modified schedule, with morning students meeting 8:50-10:30 a.m. and afternoon students meeting from 11:40 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Be sure to make any necessary arrangements needed for this early dismissal.

Students at Sheckler are selling Kid Stuff Books. Orders along with payments are due in to school by Sept. 28.

The profits earned benefit students by helping to fund activites, field trips and events.

The book offers a wide variety of coupons to be used a huge range of businesses. It pays for itself when you use a few of the coupons inside.
