The County of Lehigh is currently accepting names to the waiting list for the Countywide Housing Rehabilitation Program.

This program provides up to $20,000 of rehabilitation assistance to income-eligible, owner-occupants of properties in Lehigh County townships and boroughs.

In general, financial assistance is available for the renovation or replacement of substandard heating, electrical and plumbing systems; some structural repairs and modifications; insulation and other improvements designed to reduce operational expenses; alteration to correct code violations and other repair work necessary for upgrading existing homes to standard condition.

Funding is in the form of forgiveness liens and is interest free.

The 2012 income limits are as follows:

An individual can have a gross income of up to $41,100.

For two people, the limit is $46,950.

For three, the limit is $52,800.

For four, it is $58,650.

For five, the limit is $63,350.

For six, it is $68,050.

For seven, the limit is $72,750.

For eight people, the limit is $77,450.
