The Emmaus girls tennis team split two matches last week, falling to Northampton in a matchup of unbeatens and bouncing back with a win over Nazareth at home.

The Hornets struggled against the K-Kids as the McCall triplets Darby, Madi and Avery all scored wins in the singles matches. Katrina Guido nearly pulled out a win at the second singles spot, going three sets and falling 7-1 in the third set tiebreaker.

Getting wins for the Hornets were the duos of Kristina Phelan and Amy Yang and the number one doubles team.

The Hornets narrowly got by the Blue Eagles, needing three set wins by Guido and the Phelan/Yang pairing to do so.

Kelly Nguyen won in straight sets and number one singles and Ciara Bryan and Victoria Chang took care of business at the top doubles spot.

Guido posted a hard-fought 7-6, 5-7, 6-4 victory over Victoria Steinberger and Phelan/Yang shook off a loss in the first set for a 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 victory.
