Student of the Week
Q: What grade are you in?
A: I am a 2012 graduate of Emmaus High School.
Q: What was your favorite subject? Why?
A: History was my favorite subject. All of my favorite teachers have taught history. They are always the friendliest, funniest people and often the best teachers. I also simply find it compelling learning about the history of the world. There are some amazing characters out there with incredible stories.
Q: Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A: With soccer, I was the recipient of the Scholar Athlete Award, as well as the Tommy Gray Award for Spirit, Heart, and Perseverance. I also made Principal's Honor Roll throughout high school.
Q: Were you involved in any extracurricular activities?
A: I was the treasurer of student government and was with the organization throughout high school. I was also in National Honor Society as well. I played varsity soccer for three years, and participated in CYO basketball for four years. I also love hiking with my friends.
Q: What is your next goal after high school?
A: I'll be attending Penn State University's Smeal College of Business. I would love a job that allows me to travel around the world and become a successful person.
Q: What would you say your biggest challenge has been so far?
A: So far, my biggest challenge has been becoming confident enough in myself to ignore other peoples' opinions and learning to live by my own standards.
Q: What do you want to be remembered for?
A: I'd like to be remembered as someone who was always fun to be around. That's pretty much it.
Q. Who is in your family?
A: My parents Mary Lynne and Jerry Geiger, my older sister Alex and my younger brother Curtis. I also have an awesome dog Tibet.
Q: Do you have someone you look up to?
A: I don't really have anyone specifically that I look up to. I mostly try to forge my own path and there are only a few people I am not too stubborn to take advice from. But if I had to choose, I'd say my grandpop Charlie. He was an amazing, generous person and I will always keep him in my mind throughout life.
Q: Do you have any advice for your peers?
A: Do what you like, like what you do. Also, listen to lots of Dave Matthews Band.
